The Kindergarten comprises of Nursery, LKG and UKG. The age criterion for Nursery is 2.6 years and as per the directive of the State government as of the 1st of June in the year the child is seeking admission. For grades, LKG and UKG the age criteria is 3.6 years and 4.6 years and above respectively. Kindergartens are the formative years for a child and hence at IKV we take utmost care to make the foundation strong. School timings for the kindergarten is from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm.
The Primary wing comprises of Grades 1 and 2. The minimum age for entry into Grade 1 is 5.6 years as of 1st June in the year the child is seeking admission. Admission to the following classes increases by a year respectively. School timings for grades 1 and 2 are from 8.45 am to 3.00 pm.

About This Course

Kindergarten is the perfect platform to tickle the brains of children and encourage them to learn by relating content to life. Storytelling, Circle time, hands-on activities with Montessori based tools to emphasize on a sound mind and physical activities, inquiry-based learning through games to grow with a sound body are the focal points of this curriculum.
A system of “Continual Informal Evaluation” will be followed which evaluates students based on class work, theme-based worksheets and observation sessions. Periodic and Term tests are done to evaluate the child’s academic performance at this stage. An assessment report highlighting the various aspects of the child’s development is submitted to the parents.

Why do we use it?

At the primary level, classes are activity based, designed to enhance knowledge, cultivate skills and inculcate values in our young learners. The primary years are of extreme importance and students are provided innumerable opportunities to be creative, innovative and explorative.

  • Emphasis on building self-confidence and self-expression through carefully crafted activities like Rhyme time, Show & tell, Talent shows etc.
